Unit Meet on Zoom Speaker - Ann Coren, University of Maryland Extension Howard County Master Gardener, and Founder of the Master Gardener "Garden to Garment Project", in partnership with the Chesapeake Fibershed, will speak on "Plant Fibers". Her talk will include a wake-up to the present reality, some fiber-use history of Flax, (for weaving linen), Cotton, Nettle, Dogbane, and Swamp Milkweed. There are fiber community organizations who are growing Fiber Gardens, making reproductions of processing tools, and the Chesapeake Fibershed is giving workshops at two local farms where growing fiber plants, spinning and weaving fiber to cloth is featured.
