HSA Awards

Award Nominations Due October 15

Starting around 1950, HSA has recognized outstanding members for “…promoting the knowledge, use and delight of herbs through educational programs, research, and sharing the experience of its members with the community.” To date, over 300 members have been celebrated by their peers for their contribution to our herbal community. Awards include Certificate of Appreciation, Certificate of Achievement, The Mighty Oak Award for Excellence in Conservation, The Nancy Putnam Howard Award for Excellence in Horticulture, The Madalene Hill Award for Excellence in Herbal Education, The Helen de Conway Little Medal of Honor, The Joanna McQuail Reed Award for the Artistic Use of Herbs, The Gertrude B. Foster Award for Excellence in Herbal Literature, and The Elizabeth Crisp Rea Award (that recognizes work in a public garden).

Award Nomination Guidelines
Each nomination must be accompanied by three letters of support. Non-members may submit letters of support.
