South Texas

The South Texas Unit of The Herb Society of America

The South Texas Unit was formed in 1968 and encompasses the greater Houston area.  We have two meetings per month, one in the evening, and one during the day.  The Unit hosts two major educational and fundraising events each year.  Herb Day is an educational symposium held in the spring.  In the fall, Herb Fair provides the community with a bounty of herbal products and selected educational topics.  The South Texas Unit endows the Madalene Hill Scholarship to assist worthy college students engaged in the study of horticulture and other related areas.  We also provide ongoing herbal education for local schools, neighborhood community gardens, and for the general public. We promote and participate in many local events that provide additional opportunities to learn and to share our enthusiasm for herbs.
