Mark your calendars for April 29 - thru May 1, 2021 as The Herb Society of America heads to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for our 2021 Educational Conference and Annual Meeting of Members. This is a full conference including pre-conference bus tour and two full days of meetings and programs. Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisiana and home to our host, the Baton Rouge Unit.
This city has a dynamic and diverse history that starts with its very name. Dating back to 1699, French explorers noted a red cypress tree stripped of its bark that marked the boundary between Houma and Bayou Goula tribal hunting grounds. They called the tree "le baton rouge," or red stick.
Located along the majestic Mississippi River, Baton Rouge has been a focal point for strategic military occupation and since its first European settlement, Baton Rouge has functioned under seven governing bodies ranging from France to Spain to the Florida Republic and The Confederate States of America. Today travelers come to Baton Rouge come to enjoy beautiful river views, historical sites, and amazing food scene.
An expected 150-200 herb enthusiasts from all over the country will attend this multi-day event. If you are a vendor, ensure your participation by registering for vendor space early. If you have an idea for a presentation submit it by July 2020.
