Rocky Mountain Unit
Our unit meets the third Wednesday of each month except December. We offer programs to our members and the general public on a vast range of herbal subjects. Some recent topics are roses, basil, Celtic herbs, edible landscapes, and how to make tinctures. We are located in an area where gardening can be challenging and valuable information may be gleaned at our gatherings. Field trips, potlucks, an annual plant sale, and garden tours are some of the other activities available to members. A themed tea party is another annual event that is very popular — the Tea Party Committee usually plans related entertainment making it most enjoyable.
Our committees provide even more venues for sharing and learning about herbs. Our Herb Study Group consists of members who want to explore all aspects of herbs more in-depth. Our Culinary Committee explores using herbs in interesting and new ways. "Wild Mountain Thymes", our informative and delightful quarterly newsletter is sent to members via email.
Last but definitely not least, we maintain a beautiful herb garden at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado, which is open to the public year-round. In summer, we host our monthly meeting there. You will fit right in, as our members' herbal expertise range from beginners to advanced. Join us at our next meeting! We welcome guests and new members to this active unit — contact our membership chair below for meeting information.
