Mason Dixon Unit
The Mason Dixon Unit of the Herb Society of America supports the Colonial Kitchen Garden at the Golden Plough Tavern in York, Pennsylvania. The garden is planted and maintained by our members and promoted through such events as GoGreen in the City, the York Street Fair, Colonial York Day, First Friday and York Fest. The Unit is also active in promoting and participating in the PA Herb and Garden Festival, as well as a sale of herbs and native plants.
Our educational outreach to the community consists of lectures and workshops, open to the public, on the various uses of herbs and creation of herbal products. These workshops frequently include samplings and hands-on demonstrations.
Meetings are the third Thursday of the month at the Paul Smith Library in Shrewsbury, PA. Each meeting includes an educational portion. Guests are welcome.
