"This Pelargonium, not widely available in the commercial trade, was originally found as a sport from a P. 'Rose' type plant at the Nauvoo Restoration Village in Nauvoo, Illinois. Its leaves are deeply incised and shaped like those of the P. 'Rose' types, but have a wide golden border, making it a show stopper. It is a plant that any Pelargonium enthusiast must have. It may be planted in a container or in the garden where a bright golden accent is desired. It grows upright and is very robust. It has a mild rose scent, and the flower is small, single and lavender. As is typical of all the scented pelargoniums, this is not a frost hardy plant, and must be protected when temperatures dip to the mid 30s [Fahrenheit]. The plants are not yet available in the trade." – Caroline Amidon & Joyce Brobst, Promising Plants Presentation, 2006
* Leaves can be added to potpourri for color. P. 'Charity' can also be
included in tussie-mussies and flower arrangements.
