The golden form of purslane comes true from seed and tastes the same as green purslane, but it is much more ornamental. A border of golden purslane planted with round black Italian kale in the potager makes a terrific combination. Purslane is one of the richest known plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids. It is an excellent addition to salads and can be tossed briefly in stir-fries.
