Collections & Services

The Herb Society of America Library Collection includes nearly 3,000 volumes covering a wide array of topics related to herbs and gardening. Materials collected include books, periodicals, videos, pamphlets, slide programs, resource kits and rare books. Learn  about recent acquisitions in the library What's New section.

The Herb Society of America Library seeks to maintain a comprehensive collection of materials by Society authors and welcomes donations. To find works by Society authors see Author's Corner.

Lending & Reference

Members may borrow up to three items at a time, including one slide lecture and up to two videos, for a period of thirty days. Current mailing charges are $3.00 per item, and the borrower pays return postage. Materials may be requested via email, phone, letter or in-person. 

Although circulation is limited to members, the library is open to the general public for browsing during regular business hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Over 500 inquiries are made to the library each year. A staff librarian is available to answer reference requests Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
