You need 10 dry white beans, 10 dry black beans, and 1 dry bean that is another color like a kidney bean or a pinto bean. (Native Americans use a yellow bean.)
Get a cup (Native Americans use a hollow gourd.)
Player A puts 1 black bean, 1 white bean, and 1 colored bean into the cup, shakes it, and spills the beans out on the playing surface. If the colored bean falls closer to the black bean than to the white bean, then A must give Player B both the black and white beans.
If the colored bean falls closer to the white bean, then A gets to keep both the black and white beans.
Player B then repeats the process.
The winner is the player who gets all the beans first.
