2005 Educational Conference HighlightsThe Herb Society of America's 2005 Educational Conference and Annual
Meeting of Members, "Celebrate our Herbal Heritage" was held June 9-11, 2005
at the Marriott Perimeter Center, Atlanta, Georgia. Featured speakers included author, illustrator and storyteller Laura Martin, gardening expert Walter Reeves, author Geri Laufer, author and garden historian Caroline Holmes, chef and culinary expert, Anne Quatrano, Jason Powell of Petals from the Past nursery, Liz Klose, Superintendent of the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture, Stephanie Cohen, Director of the Landscape Arboretum at Temple University, Ambler, and Renee Shepherd of Shepherd's Garden Seeds. In total, seventeen speakers presented twelve programs covering a variety of herbal topics. Participants also had the opportunity to peruse the offerings of herbal vendors during the Marketplace, and to attend pre and post-conference tours of local gardens. The conference concluded with HSA's Annual Awards Ceremony. |
